Meet Nancy E. McDermott, DMD, MD

Dr. McDermott is a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University (Phi Beta Kappa), with a B.S. in Chemistry. She received her dental degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her OMFS residency at Massachusetts where she performed research on dental implants. She then went on to Head and Neck Oncology fellowship training at the University of Maryland. Dr. McDermott was the staff oral surgeon at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland prior to working in private practice in the upstate New York region.

Dr. McDermott is dedicated to community service and has traveled to Guatemala to perform mission work through the CEDEPCA organization (Centro Evangelico de Estudios Pastorales en Centro America).

Prior to becoming an oral surgeon, Dr. McDermott was a professional ballet dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet, Ohio Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. Dr. McDermott works out of our Owatonna office.
